North Carolina’s own duo of MC’s Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh, better known collectively as Little Brother, have built a cult following over the last 15 years and have achieved underground legend status in the process. They just might be your favorite rapper’s favorite rappers…literally, if you don’t believe me, just ask Drake. They’ve been on somewhat of a hiatus since their split with famed producer 9th Wonder, but this fall they returned with a bangin’ full length album May The Lord Watch, and they’ve been on the road for the last few months promoting it. We were lucky enough to catch their stop at the intimate Peter’s Room, directly underneath the famous Roseland Theater in Portland.

Eric State – Somebody Real (Official Music Video)

Eric State is an exciting, energetic DJ hailing from the Netherlands. Starting his career at the young age of 15, he slowly worked his way up the ranks, holding down residencies in bars and clubs all over Europe. In 2014, his wife gave birth to their son, which in turn put his career on hold…until now, as he comes bouncing right back with his track ‘Somebody Real’. Eric, who specializes in vocally supported electronic dance music with a feel-good vibe, dug deep into his crate to find an original 1994 recording of ‘Somebody Real’ by Bit Machine and made it his own now, with his second release ‘Somebody Real’.

Tina Tara – “Worth It” (Single)

On the heels of the success from her scorching hot debut video, European songwriter and performer Tina Tara returns with her brand new second single,“Worth It.” On this exciting and fun record, Tina’s bright vocals playfully dance upon a captivating uptempo soundscape that starts with a simple, minimalist beat and bouncy percussion that builds up more and more as the song continues. Tina’s unique style and international influence shines through as the song blends a variety of genres and sounds ranging from EDM and world beats to hip hop all into something truly her own. Interview: CASPA MOVES TO DENVER FOR NEW 5 WEEK DUBSTEP RESIDENCY AT THE BLACK BOX

Beginning Friday, November 15th renowned dubstep icon Caspa will begin a five-week residency at The Black Box in Denver. Each Friday the London-born producer will curate an impressive array of international talent, playing sets that bridge his decades-spanning catalogue. Dubbed “Back to the Underground” the events will showcase and celebrate a range of artists who have continued to forward the culture. Genre mainstays including Coki, Hatcha, Matty G, Sleeper, Six Chakra, Ternion Sound, and Pushloop will all make appearances between November and December. Caspa has been tremendously influential in the classic UK sound. His decision to make Colorado a temporary home-base should be an exciting opportunity for all lovers of bass music. King Femi – Young Queens

King Femi is a Hip-Hop/Rap artist hailing from Atlanta, GA. His latest release is “Young Queens,” a single that takes a new direction after the drop of the more energetic “Rolex.” The song is a more slowed-down trap song with a smooth flow. “Young Queens” was released by Royal Family Productions, LLC and is available on Soundcloud and Spotify. Maxime – The Honest Me P1

Maxime Boublil was born in Paris, France, into a musical theater family. His father wrote Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, his mother was the first Cosette in Les Miserables in France. As a child, he played cello for eleven years but knew he never wanted to follow in his parents’ footsteps. Maxime studied photography at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco and after a year realized that it wasn’t for him. He soon found what he was looking for when he walked into a friend’s dorm room one day and picked up their guitar. Soon after, he switched his major to Music in Visual Media and started composing. Maxime eventually pursued a career as an engineer at “Furstock Studios” with three-time aria award-winning engineer Doug Brady, all the while writing his own songs on the side. Drake teases new cannabis company called More Life Growth Co.

Ever since his departure from Degrassi over a decade ago, Drake has mostly stayed in his lane making music, and he’s done so very successfully. As of late though, he appears to be trying to diversify, popping up as Exective Prodcuer on Netflix’s revamped series Top Boy, and now he’s officially announced his newest venture. He announced via an instagram post that he’s joining the ranks of dozens of rappers starting their own cannabis brands. On theme with his repertoire the brand is called More Life Growth Co., and all we really know about it is that their green house looks dope as fuck. Spotlight: Doctor’s Orders Portland Dispensary

In 2019 the West Coast is littered with dispensaries of all sizes and styles, and major cities like Portland are especially saturated. It can be hard to find a shop with good prices as well as quality flower and concentrates, and many stores are plagued by uneducated or rude staff. Buried in the northeast corner of Portland, a short drive from downtown portland or PDX Airport stands one of the city’s many hidden gems, Doctor’s Orders Portland Dispensary, a modest independent shop that excels in all categories.

Project Pronin – Release Me Ft. Nicole Carino (Single)

Los Angeles based songwriter and performer Yan Pronin’s experimental brainchild, Project Pronin, has arrived with the brand new single “Release Me.” On this must-hear debut record, Yan strikes a delicate balance between crunchy analog sounds and modern production, with twisted guitar chords and riffs serving as the foundation for dynamic instrumentation that is masterfully sparse at times, and tastefully intricate at others. With help from Grammy award winning engineer Nico Essig (Lana Del Rey, Coldplay, Paul McCartney etc.) who mixed and mastered the song, “Release Me” draws subtle influence from legendary acts including Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Radiohead and others to capture a truly timeless sound rarely found in today’s era.

Tony Pike is an 83 year old Ibiza legend who passed away in early 2019 after a lifetime of partying. His hotel ‘Pikes” has been a debaucherous hotspot for celebrities spanning decades, boasting such guests as George Michael, Freddie Mercury, Liam Gallagher and Grace Jones.

Feed the weird is a hip hop duo who are obsessed with the strange and the occult. The duo, Yami Weird and HellAir, have been friends since middle school and have had a mutual love for hip hop and punk rock. Both grew apart after moving out of their shared neighborhood, until Yami reached out to hell after publishing a rough version of his son 666 ways back in 2018, after that they decided to form a group and publish their music independently with hopes of escaping the boring life of Northeastern Tennessee. Q&A With Sonic Blossom Headliner Bluetech

From the creators of Sonic Bloom, one of Colorado’s longest running summer music festivals, comes Sonic Blossom, it’s intimate, indoor, fall counterpart. Taking over Cervantes’ unrivaled dual venue set up in central Denver, the festival will encompass the same spirit of electronic and jam music one might expect from the Sonic Bloom family. Headlined by veteran ambient electronic producer Bluetech, with an all around awesome line-up that includes heavy hitter Spoonbill as well as CO favorites Dynohunter, and many other awesome acts. There should be an awesome mix of dancefloor bangers as well as chilled out vibes and everything in between.
