Solo recording artist Melodic Dirt releases his first album, aptly titled “Debut Album.” The album is seven songs deep, and has a refreshing 90’s grunge rock sound. Dirt’s vocals are raspy and slightly reminiscent of Gavin Rossdale (of Bush), but they sit nicely on top of the crunchy electric guitars that really define the sound of the album. Most of the tracks are pretty simple as far as production goes, consisting of just guitar, bass, and drums. This minimalist approach really gives the project an organic and raw sound. The songwriting is on point, and the recording is nice and warm. We’re definitely looking forward to hearing more from Melodic Dirt in the near future.
Rising DJ/Producer Treyy G teamed up with DRTY DNCN and EDM.com to bring us yet another party anthem. This track has one of Treyy’s signature catchy rap style hooks on top of a bounce/trap beat that has some pretty sweet drops. Keep your ears up for this banger in nightclubs around the world.
Young songwriter Henri Brana released his 2nd single off his upcoming EP, “A Place Where We Can Love.” Brana has a great voice and an alternative rock/pop sound remeniscent of Coldplay or U2. This song is easy on the ears, with soft guitars and synthesizers as the backdrop for Brana’s ambient vocals and heartfelt lyrics. Be on the look out for Brana’s EP to be released on Swedish label Cyber Records.
The 3hree Project is a compilation of some of Denver Colorado’s most promising artists, curated by a team of respected music industry veterans. The first single, “All or Nothing” features singer Leona Harper and rapper FL (of the Foodchain.) The track’s foundation is a slightly ominous, but somehow club friendly beat that lends itself perfectly to Harper’s charming vocals and FL’s sharp verses. Look out for more heat from The 3hree project this winter.
Rising DJ/Producer Vinnie Maniscalco is back at with a mash up of Disclosure/Sam Smith’s “Latch” and RL Grime’s “Tell Me.” Individually these were two of the hottest songs of 2014, and they blend together gloriously creating something almost entirely new. For your listening pleasure, enjoy!

We all know at least one weed snob. The people over at WeedMaps produced this short skit that follows Richard and Sebastian, two pompous yuppies and old Yale buddies, as they enjoy the finer things in a world where weed has replaced the role of legal alcohol. While it was a little corny throughout, and boring at times, we still thought it was funny. Enjoy this short movie paired a few blunts of your finest kush variety. Look out for episode 2 coming soon. Cheers!
Shitty rapper turned EDM sensation Waka Flocka is an entertainer in the true sense. Without having any real talents, his hilarious persona, image, and energy have carried him to super stardom. His most recent endeavor is this commercial for Pine Brothers Cough Drops. We aren’t sure how Waka managed to keep a straight face here, because this is funny as hell. And yes, this is a real advertisement. Never smoke a blunt again without Pine Brothers, straight up!
G-Eazy is becoming one of our favorites from the generation of “College Rappers” that includes Chris Webby, Mac Miller, Asher Roth and others. Eazy is back with his new single “Achievement.” Produced by Christoff Anderson. The beat is pretty much an updated rip off of East Flatbush Project feat. Des – “Tried by 12,” (also re-popularized in the Shady 2.0 Cypher a few years back) but its dope enough, and the real highlight is Eazy’s bars. Throughout the track he effortlessly delivers some of the stronger punch lines we’ve heard in a minute. If you don’t already know about G-Eazy, you will soon!
Trap heavyweight RL Grime dropped this new heater off his debut album Void featuring G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean, who is also on top of his game right now. The track is dope. The chorus is a little abrasive but catchy none the less, and the verses go hard. RL did his part too providing a grimey trap beat with heavy street appeal. These EDM x hip hop collabs are becoming more and more common, but this might be our favorite since A$AP Rocky and Skrillex dropped “Wild for the Night.”
Check out this new posse cut from the Shady Records camp, “Psychopath Killer.” The track includes the entire roster including Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse, and of course Eminem himself. The slightly creepy track is produced by an unlikely dream team consisting of Just Blaze, Boi-1da and the Maven Boys. The track pretty much what you would expect from the Shady Roster: a dope beat, insane rhyme patterns, a few celebrity name drops, and plenty of shock value.
Cartoon network’s Adult Swim has long been a proponent of dope, independent hip hop. Tonight the Eric Andre Show premiers on Adult Swim, and they released footage of the closing segment, which is a treadmill rap battle between to of hip hops most relevant names, Action Bronson and Killer Mike (of Run The Jewells.) From the looks of it, these boys don’t do a whole lot of cardio on a regular basis, so you can imagine how this turns out. Enjoy!
Zedd teamed up with Absolut Vodka for the official video for his remix of Magic!’s Rude. Calling this a music video is a stretch, its more like an extended Absolut Vodka TV advertisement with Zedd’s song in the background. The video features a group of friends night at one hell of a party courtesy of Zedd and his new favorite vodka sponsor. Chock-full of vodka toasting imagery, it manages to take product placement to new heights. Regardless, we appreciate effective advertising here, and the video is definitely cool enough. In a modern music industry where music itself is all but worthless, we can’t knock Zedd’s hustle on this one.
Pusha T is back with this Kanye West produced single. The beat sounds like a track that got left off of Yeezus, but Pusha goes in, and the track is dope overall. The exclusive stream is courtesy of Funk Flex or you can pick the single up on iTunes now.
Ever wondered what it would be like to smoke weed with your grandma? Your not the only one. Cut Video managed to find three grandmas that had never tried weed, and they gave them bongs and high quality product. The results, needless to say, are hilarious. Enjoy!

Canadian DJ/Producer Mad Kapital presents an impressive first official release titled “Welcome to the Stars (Deep House Remix). We loved the ambient, care free vibe of this track, and we’re looking forward to more from Mad Kapital. Check out the song and visit him at www.madkapital.com or on Facebook or Twitter. As a creative artist and world traveler, his Instagram feed is pretty dope too.
Baltimore’s Shid Latta is back with a new single “High,” featuring Tove Lo (Produced by Hippie Sabotage) off his upcoming album Love & OtheRx Drug$, set for release on November 24th.
Los Angeles veterans Dilated Peoples released the visuals to their lead single “Show Me Th Way” Featuring Aloe Blacc. The video is refreshingly simple and minimal, but its clever enough. The well thought out symbolism in the video makes up for whatever is lacking in the budget department. Great track, good video. Definitely worth watching a few times!
British acoustic indie artist Graham Iddon, better known by his stage name Raving Wild delivers his self titled song Raving Wild. Written by Iddon in a fever state, this interesting track embodies its title. Huge thanks to BBC Three Counties radio!
