Fo Chief Returns with introspective album Dark Matter

Prolific artist Fo Chief has been in the game for years, consistently dropping a myriad of solo projects and group ventures alike. His output has been consistent, but sonically he’s experimented with everything from boom bap, to trap, to records that sound like Rock and Roll, or even Soul. His latest offering, Dark Matter, is a mature blend of his dynamic singing, rapping, and writing talents, cohesively gelled by his unique production ear. With beats from the New York producer 8bars, as well as Anno Domini, Massprod and others, the project has a somber sonic landscape that matches the album’s title and gives way to vulnerable and honest concepts from Fo Chief.

While the video is definitely decadent, the melodic song has much more of a reserved and reflective vibe than it does a braggadocious one. So far, Highway is displaying a high taste level and a dope aesthetic, we’ll be looiking out for more of his new releases soon!

Surefire Signs To Upgrade Your Vape Device

Vaping has emerged as a popular alternative to smoking in recent years, as several studies indicate that it is easier on the lungs. The smoke is relatively cool and does not irritate the lungs, so one can indulge in guilt-free puffs. Not surprisingly, more and more smokers are switching to this gentler form of inhalation.  As a beginner, you can start by choosing a simple vape device with minimal features. But you will probably want to move to a better tool at some point. In fact, you must do it sooner than later if you encounter one or more of these signs.

Yonnas talks about Obliterati Records, Black Liberation, Recovery, and more

My simple question for any artist is this: do you have something you’ve GOT to say? It doesn’t matter what, as long as there’s a story they NEED to tell. When they do, it usually resonates with people. This is the case with Yonnas Abraham of Obliterati Records. He finally feels like he has his story. It hasn’t always been an easy road for the celebrated artist. At times the path to his only outlet, music, blocked by the same demons that once drew him to create. His latest album Féven, is an exploration of this journey through love and addiction, and most importantly recovery and peace. We caught up with Yonnas at his home studio and had an honest conversation about his upcoming performance, his team, addiction, Blackness, and so much more. Photo and video captured by Midnight Suns. GloRilla & Friends Rock Sold Out Cervantes Crowd

People throw around the term “meteoric rise” around a lot these days, but there’s really no other way to describe the ascent of Memphis rapper GloRilla. Within the last few months she garnered her first grammy nomination, and her first Billboard Hot 100 ranking. Not to mention, her record “Tomorrow 2” ft. Cardi B was sitting at #1 at urban radio for over six weeks. When she announced her Anyway Life’s Great Tour a few months back, almost every date sold out within days. Even after upgrading her Denver show from Cervantes Other Side to the much larger ballroom, the show once again sold out immediately. We were lucky enough to catch the packed out Valentines Day show, which included appearances from fell Memphis artists Slime and GlossUp.

Product Review: Lucky Lord Grinders

There’s a ton of grinders on the market these days. You have plastic, wood, metal, even ceramic. We’ve always preferred metal, they seem to work the best and last the longest, so when we had the opportunity to try out Lucky Lord metal herb grinders we were stoked, and after using them, we weren’t disappointed.

JID’s Luv is 4Ever Tour w/ Smino went crazy at Mission Ballroom

JID has been getting bigger and better every year since we first heard him on Earthgang’s ‘Meditate’ in 2017. After last night, one thing is certain. He’s no longer J Cole’s little homie. JID is a bona fide star in his own right. Last time we saw him was in the modest 500 cap Fox Theater in Boulder, but last night, JID rocked a packed out Mission Ballroom in Denver with veteran stage presence and an epic set that eventually turned the whole floor into a whole mosh pit. He played a selection of tracks from ‘DiCaprio 2’, as well as ‘Revenge of The Dreamers,’ and of course quite a few from his latest album, “The Forever Story.” The final offering, “Stick,” had the place in a complete frenzy that was a rare spectacle for a hip hop show.

Interview: KNDRX talks new music, Conway The Machine and more.

Up and coming artist KNDRX has been at it for a minute. The man has serious work ethic, with several full length projects and a few tours already under his belt. In late 2021 KNDRX dropped his label debut project GUMBO and made serious waves, ultimately earning him the #8 spot on the iTunes hip hop charts among some of the biggest rappers in the world. He’s managed to keep the momentum going too. We’ve seen him popping up in sessions with legends, dropping new music consistently, rocking huge stages, and producing records and videos for local and national artists alike. We caught up with KNDRX at his Denver studio (where he was cooking up house beats and smoking fat joints) to preview some new music and videos, and talk about his career. YONNAS – LOVE IN THE TIME OF THE OPIATE CRISIS

Yonnas is an artist’s artist. Over the last decade we’ve seen many iterations of his talent, covering a wide spectrum of styles in various mediums. He’s once again reinvented himself with his latest project, a future dream pop journey that is entirely unique and showcases the dynamic artist’s continued evolution. The title of the track is self explanatory, Yonnas explores the true story of his life in love and addiction. The somber visuals directed by Blake Jackson delve into the surreal and powerfully capture the detachment and numbness experienced by Yonnas and so many others battling demons.

NxxxxxS – Grub Ft. Jeshi

Paris-based producer NxxxxxS (pronounced “N-Five X-S”) has enlisted London rapper Jeshi for his new single “Grub,” out now via Mad Decent. The track features a melancholic drill beat with soulful pianos and hard-hitting lyrics depicting the current struggles of London’s youth.  Arriving alongside the single is an 80’s arcade inspired visualizer by Julien Marmar (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Supreme) that brings to life the nostalgic feel of the track. “Grub” solidifies NxxxxxS’ shapeshifting ability and pushes his boundless music into new territory.

Interview: Rick Martinelli Talks Stand Up Comedy, Rap, and more.

Comedian Rick Martinelli has had an interesting journey in the world of entertainment. He first got on our radar years ago as hip hop artist Reason The Citizen, who we’ve seen rock huge crowds with some of hip hop’s biggest acts like Brother Ali, Lupe Fiasco, Joyner Lucas and many more. With the pandemic and subsequent quarantine we hadn’t heard much from RTC, but as the world opened up and we started going back outside we learned that the sharp emcee had re-emerged not as a rapper (for now) but as a stand up comedian under his given name Rick Martinelli. Carrying his intense work ethic over to the new medium, Martinelli has performed over 200 shows, open mics, and gigs around the Los Angeles area in the last year, and he’s headed into the new year with that same energy. We chopped it up with Rick about his career transformation, as well as hip hop, comedy, and more. Check out the interview below!
