Two Nights of Larry June At Summit Denver
The Bay’s Larry June has been in the game for a minute, but in recent years he’s had exponential success and and built what can’t be described as anything other than a cult following. After a series of airtight releases, he’s back on the road for his biggest headline tour yet, Larry’s Market Run, with dozens of dates across the United States and Canada, and a European leg in the works. Larry blessed his massive Denver fanbase with two back to back shows at Summit Denver in the heart of downtown, and we were lucky enough to catch both performances.
Larry June is a talented songwriter and he makes great records, but if you haven’t seen him live, you aren’t getting the full scope of his artistry. June stays true to deep hip hop roots in a way that few modern artists do, with party rocking skills reminiscent of the GOATs like Run DMC, De La Soul, and Public Enemy. Needless to say there was a plenty of crowd participation, with the packed audience chanting entire choruses as a grinning Larry nodded in approval, clearly enjoying himself just as much as the adoring fans. Our friends Armando Geneyro and Anthony Maes of Theyshootn captured the performances and top tier stage production check out the recap below.
