Riots, Looting & Why Whites Love Cops

The entire country is unified about the horrible act police brutality that killed George Floyd, so why are we so divided about the protests of his murder? It all lies in the difference between protests, riots and looting. Also I’ll explain why white people love the cops so much. INDULGE!

TheycallhimAP – Imagine Peace (Single)

Rising rapper AP (TheyCallHimAP) has resurfaced with a new single “Imagine Peace,” a painful reminder of the state of racial injustice in America. The somber track is a first hand look at the devastating and often untold realities of those who have lost loved ones to police brutality, as AP calls out the pattern of media smear campaigns against victims used to justify the senseless murder of black people at the hands of police. It’s clear the Denver MC is almost at a loss for words as he tries to picture a better world where police killings aren’t a part of daily life. He turns the second half of the track over to an audio clip of George Floyd himself speaking over the emotive instrumental.

N2BLÜ – Better Now

Better Now is a very personal song about a past relationship and a past version of myself (Jonathan). I used to feel unworthy of love and that lead me to relationships and people that weren’t the healthiest. The journey to self acceptance is not an easy one and it never really ends. It’s something we have to work on every day and all we can really hope for is to be better now than we were then.

New York City’s famed producer/DJ Baauer has recently resurfaced in anticipation of his timely and aptly titled new album, Planet’s Mad. He’s released the first single, AETHER, along with an out of this world visual accompaniment. As unpredictable as ever, Baauer has once again evolved his sound on this highly energetic banger that fuses elements of trap, dubstep, and other bass music into a spaced out tune thats unlike anything else we’ve heard from the Harlem Shake producer. The digitally animated video is an interplanetary journey that features humans and array of alien characters escaping destruction and finding their way to the ultimate space refugee rager, DJ’d by none other than Baauer himself. This one definitely has us excited for the full album, and hopefully a national tour, whenevter our own planet reopens.

AoDbabyface – Rooftop (Single)

Up and coming rapper AoDbabyface continues to gain traction with “Rooftop,” his biggest song to date, which has garnered critical acclaim and tens of thousands of streams. The ambient track features lo-fi filtered samples that create the somber mood for the lyrics. AO gets introspective as he examines his darker emotions from the lonely birds eye view of a rooftop jumper. The dark subject matter of the song is both honest and vulnerable, so it’s no surprise people are relating to it in 2020. Be on the look out for more from Kansas City, MO’s own Aodababyface.

Hannibal Buress – Judge Judy Ft. Chrome Sparks & Ron Lamont

Earlier this year in our interview with Hannibal Buress, the comedian mentioned he had some music more projects in the works. He’s finally surfaced with his third release, “Judge Judy,” featuring Ron Lamont. The track features an absolutely scorching hot beat from acclaimed producer Chrome Sparks, and while it’s obvious Hannibal isn’t taking himself too seriously, he low key kind of kills it with some auto-tuned melodies making for a highly listenable song.
