Rising rapper AP (TheyCallHimAP) has resurfaced with a new single “Imagine Peace,” a painful reminder of the state of racial injustice in America. The somber track is a first hand look at the devastating and often untold realities of those who have lost loved ones to police brutality, as AP calls out the pattern of media smear campaigns against victims used to justify the senseless murder of black people at the hands of police. It’s clear the Denver MC is almost at a loss for words as he tries to picture a better world where police killings aren’t a part of daily life. He turns the second half of the track over to an audio clip of George Floyd himself speaking over the emotive instrumental.
