After dropping one of the most anticipated albums in recent memory, Erykah Badu and The Alchemist have hit the road for “The Abi & Alan Experiment Tour.” We were lucky enough to catch their Denver stop at the iconic Fillmore Auditorium, and needless to say, the performance did not disappoint. With a theatrical opening that (literally) set the stage, the duo gave insight into the concept of Before The World Blows, and proceeded to bring fans into the fever dream that is their unexpected yet immaculate collaboration. Backed by the impressive collective of musicians known as The Cannabinoids, they rocked the the majority of the album, in addition to some gems from Erykah’s catalog, and a brief interlude homage to some of Alc’s most important records including his career defining hit, “Hold You Down.”

Few bands have captured the warmth and emotion of classic soul quite like Thee Sacred Souls. As the San Diego trio continues their Constellation Tour, they’ll make a highly anticipated stop at The Junkyard in Denver for a night of timeless grooves, heartfelt songwriting, and one of the year’s can’t-miss live performances. Following the release of Got a Story to Tell, the band has continued to build momentum with sold-out shows and a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly original. Before they hit the Junkyard Denver on August 20th, we caught up with band member Alex Garcia to talk about their favorite moments on the road, recording entirely to analog tape, sharing the stage with The Womack Sisters, and what’s still on their bucket list. Check out our conversation below before catching Thee Sacred Souls live in Denver, and get your tickets here before it’s too late!
DRKDREAMZ is an American production duo comprised of Eric Finnegan & Candra DrkDreamz. They’re gearing up for their debut EP, Sinnerz, slated for release this summer. In the meantime, they are warming up the fans with fresh flips every week. We’ve enjoyed quite a few of them, but this 21 Savage “No Heart” flip really caught our ear. DRKDREAMZ is aptly named, their production style is both dark and etherial with hard hitting trapped out drums and low end under haunting synths, perfectly lending itself to 21’s villainous ATL vibes. This one’s perfect for a late night blunt cruise in your city!

This week, hypebeasts across the country went wild over a viral stat: for the first time in nearly 35 years, not a single rap record appeared on the Billboard Hot 100. But those who actually care about the culture know that numbers like that don’t tell the whole story. Case in point: The Alchemist’s surprise pop-up at Denver’s Tetra Lounge.
Oddisee is a different type. He’s an artist’s artist, but he’s also got a cult following of loyal fans, and his independent career has been going strong for well over a decade. Red Rocks Amphitheatre has a long history of hosting legendary performances, but few nights have matched the energy we experienced at ‘Atmosphere and Friends,’ which featured an all-star lineup of underground and classic hip-hop acts: Atmosphere, Hieroglyphics, Dilated Peoples, Living Legends, Immortal Technique, CunninLynguists, and J Bird. The crisp Colorado evening air, the towering red rock formations, and the electric crowd created a perfect backdrop for a night of lyrically dense, soul-stirring, and pure hip-hop artistry. Having seen all these acts in small and intimate venues over the last few decades, it was surreal seeing them all together on the grand stage that is Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Our friend and acclaimed photojournalist Armando Geneyro captured the night. Check out the photo recap below.

The average indie creator spends more time editing than creating and earns less than $0.01 per stream. For Adrian Swish, a music industry veteran with credits spanning Kid Ink, Icewear Vezzo, Vory, NHALE, RMR and collabed on brand partnerships with Fox Sports, PETA, and PUMA this situation presents a clear need for change.

The band, featuring a mix of seasoned musicians and younger talent, showcased their musical prowess with standout solos and tight rhythms.
