Photos: Atmosphere and Friends at Red Rocks 2026
This weekend, for the 14th consecutive time, Atmosphere and Friends took over the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and, as tradition dictates, they brought some friends along for the fun. This year’s lineup was especially eclectic, spanning multiple genres and eras of music, yet somehow it all fit together perfectly.
An opening set from rising Los Angeles talent DJ LaLa got things started. Next, R.A. the Rugged Man took the stage, bringing his trademark energy and antics. Despite the weight and density of his lyrical content, his performance was every bit as fun and engaging as you’d expect.
After that came legendary hip-hop pioneer Slick Rick, who enthusiastically and effortlessly ran through a selection of his classic records. DJ Z-Trip is always a treat to see, masterfully blending carefully chosen selections while showing off technical skills that remain virtually unrivaled in today’s era. After Z-Trip’s set came electronic duo 3OH!3, a definite shift in vibe, but one that was still warmly received by the hometown crowd and their many adoring fans.
As darkness fully settled over the venue, the nostalgia continued with OG Everlast taking the stage. Whitey Ford and his band delivered a short but sweet set featuring fan favorites, including his massive hit “What It’s Like,” among others. Although he’s been largely out of the spotlight in recent years, Everlast sounded as good as ever, with top-tier guitar playing and his deep, gravelly voice carrying strongly throughout the venue.
Finally, it was time for the main event. Anthony “Ant” Davis took the stage first, quickly getting his bearings before kicking off the music. Only moments later, Slug himself stepped into the spotlight to the sound of screaming fans. Atmosphere’s legacy in hip-hop is firmly established, and Slug continues to prove it every time he performs. With the confidence of a veteran, Slug is a true emcee. His unmistakable voice was crystal clear on every word, and his ability to work a crowd remains among the best we’ve seen. It’s easy to forget just how many classic songs Atmosphere has accumulated over the years, but thankfully, they reminded us as they ran through a wide-ranging set of songs both old and new.
Even after 14 consecutive years of Atmosphere at Red Rocks, the iconic duo shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, they seem to be having more fun than ever—and the fans in attendance certainly were, too. Long live Slug and Ant, and long live the tradition of Atmosphere and Friends at Red Rocks.
