Any Kid CuDi fan will tell you that his humming is not only a major part of his music, but one of the most satisfying and unique aspects of his sound. What other artist is known for such a thing? It turns out, there’s a science as to way CuDi’s hums resonate so much with us. The fine folks over at Genius actually reached out to Dr. Suk-Jun Kim, a composer and senior lecturer at the University of Aberdeen in the United Kingdom who authored the 2018 book, Humming.

Producer G Jones is in the thick of ‘The Ineffable Truth” tour, his largest headline tour to date, and he just made a stop at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium over the weekend for an unforgettable Saturday night on April 27th. The bill was stacked with a stellar opening lineup that consisted of Stooki Sound, Buku, and Ivy Lab, who all threw down energetic performances to set the stage for the main event. As expected, G Jones set primarily showcased cuts from The Ineffable Truth, but he definitely flexed his DJ skills and snuck in some other material. The visual display features a minimalist monochromatic scheme that created a tasteful, unique, and cohesive experience and allowed the audience to get lost in an 8-bit world of crunchy synths, slapping drums and heavy bass. Our friend Blake Jackson documented the journey. Check out the photos below, and if you get a chance to catch The Ineffable Truth Tour in another city, don’t miss it!
Producer G Jones has come up the right way. He’s slowly and steadily built up a cult following through consistently releasing quality music and relentlessly touring. No pop gimmicks, or crutch collabs, just consistent grind and a vision. He’s currently in the depths of his biggest tour yet, the massive 30+ city The Ineffable Truth Tour in support of his excellent debut album by the same name. He’s making a stop at Denver’s famous Fillmore Auditorium, and this is one show every bass head needs to catch.

Montreal based DJ/Producer Lunice is one of the music industries best kept secrets. While his accolades as a record producer, and member of duo TNGHT are more than extensive, he maintains a relative level of relative anonymity in the public eye as a solo act. His talent stretches from production and DJing, to dancing and performance art, and everything in between, and he’s earned the respect of many of the top names in music throughout his career. He’s finally getting more and more attention with his genre bending style that draws heavily from hip hop and trap roots. With intricate textures and some of the snappiest drums you’ve heard, Lunice has honed a razor sharp, and often dark sound that is both entrancing and unpredictable. This rising star is constantly in the studio, but he’s doing a limited run of a few North American dates that includes a headline appearance at Denver’s award-winning venue, The Black Box, on Feb 28th!
Bubblin’ from his recent Grammy win, Anderson .Paak tore the roof off a sold out Fillmore in Denver on Wednesday night. From silk screens to smoke blasts, the visual energy of Cheeky Andy’s Beach Club Tour matched the famously infectious Paak and the Free Nationals. The set list revolved around Oxnard, with a generous heap of hits from Venice and Malibu peppered in throughout. Paak was all over the place in the best way; whether he was crowd surfing, ripping the drum set to shreds, or dancing from one end of the stage to the other, he never missed a note or a step. The crowd adoringly matched his every word, “yes lawd!”s screamed regularly in exuberance. It felt like something of a victory lap for Paak, who after years of underground acclaim, is now indisputably a superstar.
Shouts out to opener Tayla Parx who should’ve gotten more love for her amazing set. Check out the photos below, captured by Blake Jackson.
