Producer G Jones is in the thick of ‘The Ineffable Truth” tour, his largest headline tour to date, and he just made a stop at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium over the weekend for an unforgettable Saturday night on April 27th. The bill was stacked with a stellar opening lineup that consisted of Stooki Sound, Buku, and Ivy Lab, who all threw down energetic performances to set the stage for the main event. As expected, G Jones set primarily showcased cuts from The Ineffable Truth, but he definitely flexed his DJ skills and snuck in some other material. The visual display features a minimalist monochromatic scheme that created a tasteful,unique, and cohesive experience and allowed the audience to get lost in an 8-bit world of crunchy synths, slapping drums and heavy bass. His talent stretches from production and DJing, to dancing and performance art, and everything in between, and he’s earned the respect of many of the top names in music throughout his career. He’s finally getting more and more attention with his genre bending style that draws heavily from hip hop and trap roots. With intricate textures and some of the snappiest drums you’ve heard, Lunice has honed a razor sharp, and often dark sound that is both entrancing and unpredictable. This rising star is constantly in the studio, but he’s doing a limited run of a few North American dates that includes a headline appearance at Denver’s award-winning venue, The Black Box, on Feb 28th!

Bubblin’ from his recent Grammy win, Anderson .Paak tore the roof off a sold out Fillmore in Denver on Wednesday night. From silk screens to smoke blasts, the visual energy of Cheeky Andy’s Beach Club Tour matched the famously infectious Paak and the Free Nationals. The set list revolved around Oxnard, with a generous heap of hits from Venice and Malibu peppered in throughout. Paak was all over the place in the best way; whether he was crowd surfing, ripping the drum set to shreds, or dancing from one end of the stage to the other, he never missed a note or a step. The crowd adoringly matched his every word, “yes lawd!”s screamed regularly in exuberance. It felt like something of a victory lap for Paak, who after years of underground acclaim, is now indisputably a superstar.
