Interview: Nicole Cacciavillano Talks 15 Years of Sub.Mission dubstep
If you’re into bass music and haven’t been living under a rock, chances are you know about Sub.Mission. The Denver based collective, founded by Nicole Cacciavillano in 2007 is responsible for concerts and events in the bass capital and around the country. Over they years, they’ve also established a full service booking agency with an impressive roster, and they’ve opened doors on a brick and mortar venue, The Black Box, which hosts hundreds of events each year. We’ve attended dozen of Sub.Mission’s music forward parties, and they’ve always stayed true to their mantra of “moving people through sound, not hype.” We chopped it up with the boss lady herself about the journey so far, and the future of Sub.Mission. R&B songstress Amber Mark has been making a name for herself over the last several years with various releases and writing credits, and now she’s leveled up once again with her highly acclaimed debut album, Three Dimensions Deep. We were lucky enough to catch her live performance at The Bluebird Theater in Denver, CO, and needless to say, she did not disappoint. Amber showcased her eclectic blend of R&B styles masterfully, though a heartfelt performance that attendees won’t soon forget.
Naomi Wild – Obsession (Single)
Songwriting artist Naomi Wild is back off a three year hiatus with a brand new single, “Obsession.” The etherial record features delicate melodies and spacious percussion as the backdrop for Naomi’s gorgeous vocals as she explores the honest experience of infatuation in a new relationship. The polished song displays a new evolution for the rising star, it’s no wonder she’s been tapped by the likes of ODESZA, Machine Gun Kelly, and many other popular artists. We’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of her new album has in store.
DJ TiMix – Can’t Sing (Single)
Fresh off of signing a major record deal, Las Vegas based DJ & Producer DJ TiMix is bursting onto the scene with his debut single, “Can’t Sing,” available now on all major digital streaming platforms. The aptly titled instrumental record boasts mesmerizing rhythms and strong synth leads that will have any club or party on fire. Starting off with a simple pulse, the song quickly builds up to an exciting drop complete with intricate melodies and vocal samples that tantalize the ears. We can’t wait to hear this one on a proper system!
