Smoking pot is starting to seem old-school. Vaporising is on the rise, but the real competition for smoked buds is marijuana edibles. These aren’t your father’s edibles either. Back in the day, edibles basically meant creating marijuana butter and using it in your recipes, and your pot cookies tasted like weed. Now edibles come in all sorts of alluring forms, from fudge, candy bars and lollipops to cannabis coffees and teas. The only limit appears to be the entrepreneurial imagination.
Palace Skateboards am and Internet sensation Jamal Smith teaches us his unique method of rolling a joint in the inaugural episode of MERRY JANE’s “How We Roll.” “Skateboarding and marijuana have had a long, fruitful relationship for decades. Ever since SoCal surfers first subbed the pacific ocean for pool coping, the skater/stoner venn-diagram has essentially been one giant overlapping circle with a few Phish fans and straight-edge skaters creating slivers on the periphery.” …read more

Bull running is a highly controversial practice in Spain, which is often denounced by animal rights and welfare campaigners. As an animal-friendly alternative, authorities in the town of Mataelpino, near Madrid, replaced the bull with a resin ball, decorated with the face of an angry bull. Unfortunately, rolling such a huge resin ball down a hill towards people isn’t a particularly safe activity either.

Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party is always a blast, and this year was no exception. We caught the Colorado stop of the tour at Red Rocks that featured Slumberjack, Valentino Khan, Cheat Codes, Alison Wonderland, Cashmere Cat, and of course, Major Lazer to close out the night. There was ups and downs, and we have our personal preferences (Alison Wonderland killed it) but overall Major Lazer reminded everyone whose show it really was, with a huge display of lights, LED screens, dancers, cannons, money throwing and other debauchery we’ve come to expect from Diplo and his crew. Check out the mayhem if you missed it, or catch the block party in your city. Images captured by Blake Jackson.
