New Jersey soul hop artist MoRuf has been making waves all year, and he continues to release new material with impressive consistency. He just dropped this super laid back, feel-good anthem “sweetvibes2,” that lives up to it’s name and then some. The beat and flow are both silky smooth, and perfect to roll one up to. This guys has a ton of dope records, we’re hype to see where he is goes in the next few years.
Mobb Deep’s Prodigy has managed to stay a relevant force in and out of the main stream for almost 2 decades. He recently premiered 2 new tracks on Statik Selectah’s ‘Show Off’ show on shade 45. He performed the 2nd track live on the air. Both tracks feature minimalist RZA style production from Alchemist, with the 2nd also co produced by Statik himself, and featuring Big Twins. Independent LA powerhouse Nipsey Hussle just dropped a new track called “Clarity,” featuring Dave East and Bino Rideaux. This summer loosie has a dope beat, and hot verses from Nip and Dave. The hook is a little poppy and lack luster but the track is dope over all. Enjoy!
Sean Brown, Tha Alumni-affiliate MC has resurfaced with Life of a Dreamer, a strong project that embodies both modern and classic vibes. The mixtape features Phil Ade, Daniel Peter and Kunceal. Sean does the bulk of the bulk of his production on his own, with some help from german producer Crazy T and others. The song’s poignant message has only become more powerful in the subsequent days as two brand new cases of extreme police brutality have surfaced since the release of the track.

F.L. and Ray Reed of Young Amsterdam dropped off this loosie recently, and it doesn’t disappoint. FL crafted a subtle double entendre of a hook that is both a hustler’s anthem and a throw to the MC’s hometown of Chicago. Rising producer SpydaT.E.K has been doing his thing for years now in Los Angeles, and Denver. He just recently dropped his first release on Mad Decent. Denver’s Trev Rich continues to make waves, consistently releasing track after track, each a little hotter than the last. His most recent effort “Wait a Minute,” has the rising artist sounding like a vet, with assistance from non the than the evil genius DJ Green Lantern on the beat. Lantern’s dark, grimey sound meshes perfectly with Rich’s aggressive attack to make one of the hardest hitters we’ve heard from the mile high city.
